Today is a sad day for the Abbott House family, as we mourn the loss of a courageous direct support professional who passed away from complications of Covid-19. She was a kind, compassionate caregiver, who was selflessly devoted to supporting those in need during this time of unprecedented challenges. We are humbled by her service and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, co-workers and all the individuals whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
This tragic loss to our agency is a stark reminder of the serious threat this virus poses to our entire community and further strengthens our resolve to preserve and protect all those entrusted to our care.
The courage of our frontline heroes is truly humbling and serves as a pillar of hope from which we can all draw strength. We salute them as they continue to bravely meet these needs of so many children, struggling families and adults who rely on our services, perhaps now more than ever.
