The Stanley Compassionate Care Award celebrates the invaluable contributions of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and inspires others to strive for excellence in supportive, benevolent care. By recognizing and rewarding outstanding individuals, we aim to foster a culture of empathy, dedication, and innovation within our Abbott House community.
This annual award will be funded through The Stanley Fund, which was established through the generous $100,000 gift from the Stanley Family for the purpose of:
- Addressing the ongoing needs of adults with developmental disabilities at Abbott House. This may include safety enhancements to homes, staffing, and other support mechanisms that allow individuals to age in place and maintain a high quality of life; and
- Recognizing exceptional DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) by establishing the first-ever Stanley Compassionate Care Award.
The award will include an engraved trophy and a $1,000 check, which can be used at the recipient’s discretion to support personal needs, enhance quality of life, or alleviate the burden of daily living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries, etc.).
Nominations may be submitted by peers, families, and individuals receiving care.
