Group Homes

For children and teens who need additional support or who have not yet been matched with a foster family, residential care in a group home setting serves as a safe and nurturing atmosphere as they continue their individual journeys toward permanency.

Abbott House operates a total of three Group Homes in Westchester County for young adults. Additionally, we have one Community Residence (funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health) for younger children with severe emotional/behavioral issues.

The majority of these young people are preparing to age out of foster care. With the support of our Preparing Youth for Adulthood program, our teens learn how to be self-sufficient so that they can make a positive transition into permanency.
