Abbott House hosts its Third Annual “Paradiso” Gala on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Town & Country, Congers, NY to celebrate its developmentally disabled residents and honor two tireless advocates for this often-overlooked population.

Joanne Martino of Sodexho Corporate Services will receive the 2007 Abbott House Caring Hearts Award for her groundbreaking advocacy work for Hudson Valley residents with developmental disabilities. Gregory T. Mooney of Verizon will receive the 2007 Abbott House Community Advocate Award for his service as an Abbott House board member and lifetime supporter of volunteerism in Rockland County. Tickets to the event are $125 each. The evening features a “chance” auction, a silent auction, live music during cocktail hour, and a three-course dinner. Bronx TFBH Moves to Webster Ave. Annex |

On September 17, 2007, our Bronx Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home (TFBH) program moved from our Jerome Avenue location to our Webster Avenue office. The program, led by Administrative Supervisor Catherine Raffaele, shares the Bronx Family Service Annex with our STEP program. This reorganization allows us to better serve the children and families in the TFBH program and to make the best use of our resources in the Bronx. Our TFBH program regularly organizes group activities using local community services such as parks, restaurants, and sporting events. By getting kids more involved in their own neighborhoods, the children and young adults benefit from stronger social connections. TFBH can now be reached at (718) 299-5823, and its new street and mailing address is: 1946 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457. |
