Become A Mentor
What is a mentor?
“Someone to have fun with, to talk and share knowledge with…”
“Someone who is good with children or teens and is willing to contribute their time…”
Do you have eight hours or more a month to spend with a child in need? Do you want to be a positive role model for someone in need? Become a mentor and help change a child’s life for the better.
By dedicating just a few hours each month, you can be a role model to a child in need. Call our Westchester department at 914-591-7300, ext. 3454 or for Bronx and city mentoring opportunities, call 718-299-5823, ext. 3941.
Since 1991, our Mentoring Program has worked with more than 200 children and teens. Growing from a small pool of available mentors, our current program now boasts over 60 active adults. By providing a valuable forum for foster youth to socialize and gain essential social experiences, the program exposes youth to an alternative healthy lifestyle. The program also cultivates children’s interests and encourages them to participate in community events thereby creating a sense of pride, responsibility and cultural awareness.
