Health & Wellness Fair

Zumba, table tennis, a smoothie station, and a visit from BoulderBird. These are just a few of the activities enjoyed by Abbott House Bridges to Health children and families during April 27’s Fun & Fit event.

Families were invited to spend the day enjoying games and activities that promoted health and fitness. In the cafeteria, families were treated to healthy snacks, including make-your-own trail mix and the popular smoothie station.

Tables held arts and crafts activities and informational literature on a variety of health-focused topics. The auditorium provided different opportunities to engage in physical fitness, such as a circuit training course and table tennis. Group dances proved to be popular, engaging families and staff alike.

“I feel we really hit our mark with this event, because the children and families were able to connect with our goal of fun and fitness and interact with B2H staff in a fun and different way,” Fun & Fit Coordinator Vincent Price shared. Waiver Service Provider Alex Celcis treated participants to an overview and demonstration of Go Ju Ryu, a form of karate that he has been studying for over 12 years. Families shared their enthusiasm for the fun-filled day, as HCI Director Penny Pagliaro reported: “At the end the question was, ‘when is the next event?’”
