Abbott House Launches New Program:
Family Assessment and Community Enhancement
Abbott House has been awarded a $139,750 grant from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. This grant will be used to support the public/private partnership program known as FACE (Family Assessment and Community Enhancement).
Specifically, the FACE program will be an enrichment of present Abbott House services to families in the Poughkeepsie and Newburgh communities and will operate from Abbott House’s existing offices there. The new program will aid in the on-going assessment and referral of services to children from infancy to sixteen and their families.
When asked to comment on the grant, James L. Kaufman, President and CEO of Abbott House, said, “We are delighted that the New York State Office of Children and Family Services has chosen Abbott House for this grant. It is both a recognition of the great work our programs currently provide to children and families and an endorsement of our ability to enhance those services. We look forward to continuing our fifty-year tradition of quality services to the neediest among us and bettering those services to our neighbors in Orange and Dutchess Counties.”
